I just wiped away my tears... It is not every day that this immigrant from Austria writes a book in her second language, finds a New York City publisher, hustles like a street kid, and becomes a best-selling author in the USA, her country of choice 💥
.... TWO months before the #joyoflatermotherhood even hits the bookstores!
This is extremely moving, humbling and tears-inducing to me as I, like so many of us, had pretty much all odds stacked against me. So this, to me, is so much bigger than I can express right now...
Yet in a nutshell, this success speaks to the value of the topic of later motherhood and the books timely need in the world, as well as to the importance of hope and perseverance. And grit. And heart.
I wrote The Joy of Later Motherhood for all women over 35 who want to start their families but are bombarded with negative messages about free-falling fertility and skyrocketing health risks at advanced maternal age and start to believe and internalize this fear mongering.
I know what I am talking about, I was one of these women!
I could hardly find any positive stories and encouraging books that would guide me to my dream: a healthy pregnancy and equally healthy and strong baby regardless of age!
And it dawned on me, that I may not be the only woman looking for encouragement and helpful advice.
So after I gave birth to my son I put my 20+ years in journalism to good use: I wrote this book that's full of interviews with other real-life moms whose stories will inspire and encourage you and hopefully thousands, if not millions of women around the world to follow their dreams and not give up!
I know that every single one of you who has overcome what seemed insurmountable obstacles can relate....and together we can cry tears of joy whenever dreams, books, or babies are born💕💛
And to all others who are still facing obstacles like infertility, miscarriage or the stress of another round of IVF: please don't give up!
I promise I'll do whatever I can to help you find hope and see the light on your way to motherhood.
You deserve it.
Your future child needs you to believe.
And I promise to serve my treasured community with all the energy and street cred that I bring to the table...as soon as I come to grips with myself as to what happened today 😊
